Facebook, Twitter, Linkin, YouTube, Flickr and the list goes on and on - oh, and let's not forget Niagara Trade! I can think of very few businesses that wouldn't benefit from being on-line and being an active participant in the world of social media. Whether you are selling furniture, houses, business services or even round-to-its and whatcha-ma-call-its -- social media is viral!

It's like that commercial from  years ago for shampoo. Come on, you know the one - "She'll tell two friends, and they'll tell two friends, and they'll tell two friends, and so on, and so on, and so on….

Funny, I can remember the commercial, but not the brand. What was it? Herbal Essence? Breck? Oh - I don't know - if you do, please remind me. The message here however is not the brand, but the theory - they'll tell two friends.

Well in the social media world, it's more like "they'll tell 200 friends, and so on".

The problem is many business owners do not know where to begin, or if started they are at a loss for content. You must engage your followers and keep them interested and participating in your social media sites - that is the trick. Simply having a presence on facebook doesn't make for success - the page must change, grow and be interactive.

So while you're pondering whether you should have a presence for your business, or how to grow the existing presence you have, here is an interesting slide show that might just convince you on the importance of social media, it's called "100 Awesome Marketing Stats, Charts and Graphs".
